When you play a team as good as the Houston Astros, you'd had better not give them extra outs. The Red Sox did just that in
an excruciating 4-3 loss in Houston Friday.
Xander Bogaerts made two miscues and
Steve Pearce the other as
The Carmine Hose handed a winnable game to the Astros.
Chris Sale pitched well enough to win—going six innings and giving up just two
earned runs. Have you noticed that the totality of Boston's offense lately has been solo home runs? It happened again! Solo shots by Bogaerts,
Jackie Bradley, Jr. and
Christian Vazquez were all they could muster off former Red Sox pitcher
Wade Miley and the Houston bullpen. This was a bad, sloppy loss—not worthy of the World Series Champions. No biscuit.
