This one might have been the worst loss of 2019—with the Red Sox on the verge of winning their fourth straight game. Up 4-3 in the bottom of the ninth, "closer"
Ryan Brasier fell victim to an error by
Rafael Devers, but still only got one out in the inning and gave up a walk-off home run to seal
a devastating 6-4 loss to The Pale Hose. The loss wiped out Boston's resilient comebacks through the game—led by
Andrew Benintendi's homerun and three-hit games by
J. D. Martinez and
Mookie Betts. It also wiped out another decent start by
David Price—who went six solid innings, giving up three earned runs. Boston is now 14-18—6.5 back of Tampa. Bad loss. No biscuit.
