This is getting tiresome. The Red Sox got their
fifth straight crappy starting pitching performance on Monday night, on the way to being
shut out by the Oakland A's, 7-0. The defending World Series Champs are now 1-4—with six games left on this horrendous West Coast road trip.
David Price was the culprit this time—despite striking out
nine A's in his six innings of work. Still, he coughed up
three home runs and four earned runs overall in the loss. Boston managed just four measly hits on the night—two of them by the newly extended
Xander Bogaerts. The top three "hitters" in the Red Sox line-up (
Mookie Betts,
Andrew Benintendi,
Rafael Devers) were a collective 0-11. Can someone please summon the
real Boston Red Sox to the 2019 season? Thank you!
