The
2018 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox will
kick-off the defense of their title on March 28, 2019—as part of a "triple-header" Opening Day telecast on ESPN. The Red Sox will face-off against the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field starting at 7PM Eastern Time. Also, ESPN will cover Opening Day at Fenway Park—with a 2PM Eastern Time telecast on April 9th. The pre-game ceremonies will feature the raising of the 2018 World Series Champion banner and the passing out of World Series rings, followed by the game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
