Red Sox Have Not Yet Decided About Attending A White House Ceremony
Despite earlier indications that the 2018 World Series Champion Red Sox would attend a White House ceremony, the latest official word is that no decision has yet been made. When asked if such a trip had been planned. President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski stated, "Not to my knowledge. They would not call me directly on that one though. There’s people above me that would receive that phone call." When asked the same question, Red Sox manager Alex Cora stated, "I’ve been using this platform the right way the whole time. We’ll talk about it as an organization, and whatever we decide is going to be respected. If we decide to go, I will use my platform the right way. If you start looking at this team, we’ve got guys from the United States, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, so I’ll use the platform the right way. Like I said before, I know the headlines don’t show it, I’ve said I respect the president of the United States. I know he helped our country, so whenever we have to make the decision we’ll make it, and it’s going to be respected." Stay tuned!
