cashed in his love for the team in the Massachusetts State Lottery. On Monday,
Jim Aylward won $100,000 in the
Mass Cash game by playing the uniform numbers of his favorite Red Sox players—11 (
Rafael Devers); 16 (
Andrew Benintendi); 19 (
Jackie Bradley, Jr.); 22 (
Rick Porcello); 25 (
Steve Pearce). The ticket with the winning combination was sold at a
Cumberland Farms store
in East Templeton. Aside from the owners of the
Cumby's, perhaps the happiest people are Jim's nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren—
hey, the holidays are coming, aren't they?
