There were so many amazing Red Sox moments in the 2018 championship season. One that still stands out for us wasn't any great pitching performance or key clutch hit or even a game-saving catch—
but a pitch to the gut. Back on June 11th, the Red Sox were in an extra-innings fight with the Orioles at Camden Yards.
Eduardo Nunez was plunked right in the stomach by a slider and fell to the ground—writhing in pain. Manager
Alex Cora, the Red Sox trainer and teammate
Brock Holt hurried over the see how he was. Nunez was
clutching his bread-basket shouting,
"Oh my God, Oh my God, Oh my God. I'm not gonna die, I'm not gonna die." Cora could not contain his laughter after listening to the overreaction by Nunez. It was a
great team moment—one to remember fondly when we look back on the 2018 season of the World Champs.
