POLL: More Than Three-Quarters Want World Series Matchup With Brew Crew
Early voting in our latest FenwayNation Poll shows an overwhelming preference for the Red Sox facing-off against the Milwaukee Brewers rather than the Los Angeles Dodgers. As the chart shows, fully 76% would like the The Carmine Hose to take on The Brew Crew in the Fall Classic, while only 24% would rather duke it out with The Denizens Of Chavez Ravine. Clearly, there are interesting facets to both potential match-ups—but the "sexiness" factor would be off-the-charts with a Red Sox-Dodgers series—one which FOX would surely love as well. The image of Dave Roberts returning to the scene of his 2004 heroics for the Red Sox would be special theatre. However, the Brewers are an extremely talented ballclub—with the likely National League MVP Christian Yelich in their line-up. And, of course, the return to Boston of 30-home-run guy Travis Shaw would be interesting (although Tyler Thornburg would be nowhere to be found).
