Chris Sale's "tune-up" start was not exactly dominant. While the ace lefty did strike out eight in 4.2 innings of work, he seemed to rely a lot more than usual on off-speed stuff—and just didn't look all that sharp. Of course, all this will be forgotten if he shuts down an opponent in Game One of the ALDS. Essentially, the Red Sox bench played Game 2—managing just six hits in
the eventual 10-3 loss. Another troubling result was
Craig Kimbrel's brutal ninth inning—which resulted in four additional Bird runs.
The Evil Ones come in to Fenway Park tomorrow for the final three (thankfully meaningless) games of the season. Although,
The Pinstriped Posers lead the A's for the top Wild Card spot by just 1.5 games—so there's
that.
