According to
FanGraphs.com,
three Red Sox players rank in the Top 20 in WAR (Wins Above Replacement).
Mookie Betts tops
all players in Major League Baseball with an 8.2 WAR, followed very closely by Cleveland's
Jose Ramirez in second place with a WAR of 8.1. Not far behind Ramirez is
Mike Trout, in third position with a WAR of 8.0. Clearly, all three players are serious contenders for the
American League Most Valuable Players Award—with many observers believing that the WAR stat is the one true measure of MVP status. Other
Carmine Hosers who are high on the list are:
J.D. Martinez in 8th position with a WAR of 5.4 and
Andrew Benintendi in 18th position with a WAR of 4.4. You can view the entire list of WAR rankings
