The Red Sox announced that staff ace
Chris Sale is
"expected" to start this Sunday's game against the Orioles at Camden Yards. Of course, he was
previously "expected" to start
tonight in
America Lite—but he won't. The lanky lefty was placed on the disabled list at the end of July with left shoulder inflammation. Whether this further delay is an indication that the shoulder issue is no longer "minor" (as the team previously stated) is unclear. Sale has been amazing this year—posting an 11-4 record and a 2.04 ERA. Despite his absence, he
still leads the American League in strikeouts with 207. He's walked only 33 batters in 141.0 innings pitched.
