have signed a 16-year-old Dominican outfielder to a $1.15 deal.
Eduardo Lopez, a 6', 170-pound switch-hitting center-fielder is seen by scouts as a player who will definitely hit at the major-league level—with more power from the right-side of the plate, but better overall hitting skills from the left side. Lopez is a right-handed thrower with solid defensive skills. The signing is part of the International Free Agent process—for which the Red Sox have been allocated a pool amount of $4,983,500. to sign players.
