Evil Ones Fall Again To Tampa Bay Rays, 3-2, Now Trail Red Sox By 5.5 Games
Sure it's muggy outside—and it's going to rain cats and dogs in Boston over the next couple of days. But, on the bright side, the Yankees lost this afternoon! Yes, The Bronx Embalmers dropped another one down in St. Petersburg to the mighty, mighty Rays—this time, 3-2. Tampa rolled out it's 'clown-car' pitching style again—sending six hurlers to the hill. After going up 1-0 early, The Pinstriped Posers choked away the advantage when Kevin Kiermaier homered to give the Rays a lead they never relinquished. The loss drops The Evil Ones to 64-36—5.5 games behind the Red Sox, who play the Birds tonight in the rubber match of their three-game set at Camden Yards. If all goes well, Boston will head back to Fenway Park with a six-game edge on The Empire.
