Red Sox "Hope" To Play Mookie Friday—Pedroia, However, Likely Out Again
If you didn't know any better, you'd think the Red Sox were suddenly turning into a M*A*S*H unit—with Mookie Betts missing five games and Dustin Pedroia's balky left knee still not right. Moreover, it looked like last night's violent collision at first base by Rafael Devers was going to sideline him—but he appears to be OK. Anyway, today the team expressed "hope" that Betts could play on Friday night—but also hinted that Pedroia would miss his second straight start after just recently returning to the team after left knee surgery in the off-season. Said Manager Alex Cora of Mookie, "He’s coming in early [Friday]. We got early work. [Thursday] he hit a little bit off the tee, so he’s going to go through a whole thing of baseball activities, and then we’ll make a decision." Stay tuned!
