Going almost completely unnoticed, former Red Sox starter
Clay Buchholz has had an impressive start with his new team—the Arizona Diamondbacks. Over four starts, the tall Texas righty has a sparkling 1.88 ERA, while holding hitters to a .191 average. On Wednesday night, he went six innings against the Giants—scattering seven hits and just two runs. Of course—
given that the Universe revolves around the Red Sox—Buchholz gave up a solo shot to
Pablo Sandoval. Folks, you just can't make this stuff up. Buchholz has not exactly been overpowering—but he
is keeping his team in games and limiting damage. Frankly, you have to pull for the guy to succeed. We wish him the best for the balance of the 2018 season—unless, of course, we meet
The Sons Of Torey Lovullo in the
Fall Classic.
