Taking two out of four games at the
JuiceBox in Houston is
more than acceptable—especially after losing the first two. The Red Sox proved that they can compete with the World Series Champs—even without
Mookie Betts and
Dustin Pedroia. Boston
punished the 'Stros, 9-3 last night—homering twice and getting a solid outing by
Rick Porcello. The former
Cy Young-winner went 6.1 solid innings—giving up just two earned runs on five hits, while striking out five.
Brock Holt went 2-4 with
three RBIs—hammering his first triple of 2018.
Mitch Moreland gave
The Carmine Hose an early 2-0 lead on his 10th HR of the year in the first inning.
Andrew Benintendi also went 'yard', clouting his 9th of the year in the fifth.
Eduardo Nunez and
Xander Bogaerts also had multiple-hit games in Boston's 15-hit attack. The Red Sox moved to a full game lead on
The Evil Ones, who were rained out. They return to Fenway for a six-game homestand against the Tigers and White Sox.
