It was pretty much a team effort last night as Boston
easily defeated the Tigers, 7-1. The offense was powered by
Andrew Benintendi (2-2, 2RBIs, HR),
Xander Bogaerts (3-4, 2RBIs) and
Christian Vazquez (3-4, 2RBIs, HR).
Eduardo Rodriguez handled the pitching—going 5.2 innings and giving up just one earned run, gaining his seventh victory of the year. Four members of the Red Sox bullpen delivered 3.1 innings of scoreless relief—giving up just two hits. The Red Sox now have 43 wins on the year—and remain a full game up on
The Evil Ones in the American League East.
