If, as many expect,
David Price heads to the disabled list after his three consecutive horrendous starts, there
may be a chance for
red-hot left-handed pitching prospect Jalen Beeks to help out the big club. Just yesterday, Beeks went 6.2 innings for AAA Pawtucket—yielding two earned runs on five hits, while striking out nine and walking only one batter. Beeks owns a stellar 1.71 ERA this season for the PawSox and seems more than ready for a promotion to
The Show. The 24-year-old out of Arkansas (the same program that produced
Andrew Benintendi) reportedly mixes a low-90s heater with a cutter and an
excellent change-up. Stay tuned, the kid may be hurling in a ballpark near you soon.
