Things seem to be coming to a head on whether Boston's AAA franchise will continue to be called the "PawSox", or whether Worcester, Massachusetts will soon claim the team as the "WooSox". While Rhode Island public officials seem to be softening their position on the level of taxpayer funding they'll accept for a new Pawtucket stadium—time may be running out while they dither. Aggressive leadership in Worcester has been lining up local businesses for potential team partnerships—and some say a deal with the Bay State's second-biggest city
could come as soon as this June.
