The #1 prospect in the Red Sox organization—3B
Michael Chavis—
has been suspended 80 games for testing positive to
Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone, a banned substance. The 22-year-old Chavis claims that he never "purposely" took any prohibited substance. In a statement he said he's been
"searching for an answer as to how a prohibited substance I have never heard of, DHMCT, was detected in my urine during the off-season." Drafted in the first round by Boston in 2014, Chavis hit 31 HRs last year in time at both Single A Salem and Double-A Portland.
