Hanley Ramirez was feeling good on Monday night. He was back in Miami where he made his reputation after being traded by the Red Sox for
Josh Beckett and
Mike Lowell those many years ago. Tonight, Hanley went 2-5—unloading his first HR of the year, stealing a base (his second on the year) and flashing some leather at first base. It was vintage
'Happy Hanley'. Other multiple hit games came from:
Mookie Betts (1st HR),
Rafael Devers (5th RBI),
Xander Bogaerts and
Christian Vazquez (2 RBIs).
Andrew Benintendi also got his first hit of 2018—an infield job, but it counts. Paired with the resuscitated offense was another solid starting pitching performance—this time by number four/five starter
Brian Johnson. The big lefty went six innings, giving up just one earned run, while striking out five. The bullpen was a little shaky again, but it ended in the team's
fourth win in five tries—7-3.
