First-Place Red Sox Still Sit Atop The USAToday MLB Power Rankings
Despite a bit of slide recently, the Red Sox remain in first position in the latest USAToday MLB Power Rankings. The 2017 World Series Champion Houston Astros stayed in the second spot, tied with the streaking Arizona Diamondbacks (AKA Desert Red Sox). The Bronx Embalmers shot up five positions to slither into fourth place, followed by their cross-town rival New York Metropolitans (#5). Rounding out the Top Ten are: the Los Angeles Angels and Chicago Cubs (tied for #6), the Cleveland Indians (#8), the St. Louis Cardinals (#9) and the very surprising Philadelphia Phillies (managed by former Red Sox OF Gabe Kapler) at #10. At the very bottom of the list are the Cincinnati Reds (#30)—and just above them are Boston's next opponent (the Kansas City Royals at #29). You can view the entire list HERE.
