POLL: Opinion Mixed On Reduced OF Playing Time
Early voting in our latest FenwayNation Poll shows that opinion is divided as to how reduced outfield playing time should be handled—in light of J.D. Martinez (apparently) wanting to play more OF than had been expected. As the chart shows, the largest share of voters (33%) think the current OF should remain intact and Martinez should exclusively DH. Very close behind, 31% each think Jackie Bradley, Jr. should lose the most playing time or that the reduced playing time should be distributed equally among JBJ, Andrew Benintendi and Mookie Betts. Also, 3% each feel either 'Benny Biceps' or Mookie should lose the most time. Clearly, the desire by Martinez to play the OF is going to be a managerial challenge for Alex Cora.
