FenwayNation Poll shows that a plurality of readers (40%) want
J.D. Martinez to
just be the Red Sox DH—and
not take outfield starts away from
Andrew Benintendi,
Jackie Bradley, Jr., or
Mookie Betts. As the chart shows, with the
assumption that Martinez will get
some OF time, 33% think JBJ should lose most of those starts. Just about one-quarter of readers voting (23%) think the reduced OF load should be spread evenly across
all three players. Only 3% think
Benny Biceps should lose the most starts to J.D., while only 1% feel the same way about Mookie.
