Yikes! As bad as the starting rotation is 250 miles south in
Baghdad-On-The-Hudson, our own starting five is starting to look pretty dismal as well. With nagging injuries to
Drew Pomeranz,
Eduardo Rodriguez and
Steven Wright, manager
Alex Cora is now admitting that—if the season started today—the rotation would be:
Chris Sale,
David Price,
Rick Porcello,
Brian Johnson and
Hector Velázquez.
Holy mackerel! Looks to us like a 2-3 start (
at best) to the new season. This stark reality should reinforce the need to get a veteran starter in here now—like
Aníbal Sánchez —to give us
some rotation stability at the start of the 2018 campaign.
