Sister Of J.D. Martinez Recounts His First Visit To Fenway
The sister of J.D. Martinez posted a picture on Instagram yesterday showing the new Red Sox slugger on his first visit to Fenway on his 19th birthday twelve years ago this coming August. She states, "He looked good in Boston gear even back then!" Martinez will be expected to—at least partly—fill the void left by the departure of David Ortiz after the 2016 season. The right-handed hitter should also tattoo the Green Monster for a boatload of doubles this season. In just 119 games last season, "Flaco" clouted 45 HRs and knocked in 104 runs—while batting .303. He also slugged at an amazing .690 pace and posted a spectacular 1.066 OPS between the Detroit Tigers and Arizona Diamondbacks. Hey, he looked good in our laundry 12 years ago—he should look even better in the 2018 season.
