Players' Union Holds Separate Camp For Un-Signed FAs
With over 100 free-agents still un-signed—including Sox target J.D. Martinez—the MLB Players' Association has announced that it will operate a separate camp for the unemployed. Of course, this will not be like the "camps" that sprung up for jobless workers in The Great Depression—this will have all the luxuries that spoiled millionaires have come to expect. One option for this sort-of "Home For Wayward Ballplayers" is the IMG baseball academy in Bradenton, Florida. A similar camp was set up 22 years ago in Homestead, Florida—dubbed "Camp Collusion"—during that year's MLB work stoppage. Somehow, we can't bring ourselves to sympathize all that much with these guys.
