On National Pizza Day We Pay Homage To "Pizza-Gate"

It was April 16, 2007—Patriots Day in Boston. During one of the most hallowed daytime games at Fenway Park, a vicious food-based assault took place that—to this day—sends shivers down the spines of pizza lovers everywhere. And as we pause to celebrate National Pizza Day today, we recall the flying mozzarella and tomato sauce that besmirched that cold Boston morning. (Editor's Note: The Flying Mozzarellas were also a trapeze act in the late 1950s). Anyway, the fan-on-fan crime that took place that day is truly deserving of another look.
