Empire Snares Another Quality Player In Brandon Drury
In a mostly unnoticed three-team trade, The Bronx Embalmers further enhanced their 2018 roster by nabbing IF Brandon Drury from the Diamondbacks—and only giving up an obscure 2B prospect in return. The 25-year-old Drury (under control through 2021) pretty much flew under the radar in Arizona—despite solid numbers. His career 162-game averages are: .271, 17 HRs 70 RBIs. In the last two years, he played in 134 and 135 games. Plus, he can play 2B, 3B and the outfield. He will likely start the season as the third baseman of The Pinstriped Posers—until rookie Miguel Andujar is ready for The Show. Grudgingly, we have to applaud another very shrewd move by GM Brian Cashman.
