That
Brian Cashman guy is at it again. Multiple reports suggest that
The Pinstriped Posers are emerging as the favorites to land 29-year-old SP Chris Archer in a trade with the Rays. The theory is that by dangling multiple players from their deep reservoir of prospects,
The Bronx Embalmers can whittle down the monetary cost of Archer enough to
still stay under the $197 million salary cap. Adding Archer would significantly boost the rotation of
The Evil Ones—which remains their lone 'weak' spot. The current crop of Red Sox (including
J.D. Martinez) have hit Archer
pretty well—.270, .726 OPS. Overall, Archer's been kind of "up and down" against Boston—sometimes brilliant, sometimes a punching bag.
