The move of Boston's AAA franchise from Rhode Island to Massachusetts is looking more and more likely. Rhode Island's House Speaker
Nicholas Mattiello said the following yesterday about a proposed PawSox stadium deal:
"The Senate bill is dead in the state of Rhode Island. Two-thirds of Rhode Islanders do not support it and therefore, the House will not support it." So, given
Little Rhody's long history of political fixing (and
corruption, we might add),
this puppy is about to be put to sleep. Officials in Worcester, Massachusetts have been holding on-going talks with team ownership about constructing a new stadium in that city's Canal District. Barring any Bay State political shenanigans (which are
also plentiful), you should be able to visit your
WoSox somewhere around 2021.
