According to a report by
Joe Giglio of
NJ.com,
The Evil Ones may be re-uniting with Eduardo Núñez to fill their gaps at second and third base. Before getting injured, Núñez played well for the Red Sox in the second half of 2017—after coming over in a trade with the Giants that sent prospects
Shaun Anderson and
Gregory Santos to the Bay Area. With the injury to
Dustin Pedroia and the uncertain full-season performance level of
Rafael Devers, Boston has infield questions as well—questions that could be
partially answered by acquiring Núñez. Stay tuned—as the two AL East behemoths may battle it out over a former player of both franchises.
