Multiple reports have surfaced that Japanese two-way phenom
Shohei Ohtani will sign with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Clearly, an American League venue will allow him to more easily work his way into the offense (DH) on days that he is not pitching. Also, Los Angeles offers much easier access to non-stop, relatively-short flights to Tokyo. Stay tuned for more details, as
the Angels have not yet officially acknowledged the signing. For Red Sox fans, this means they will be able to see Ohtani play (and perhaps pitch) during a three-game set at Fenway Park on the following dates:
Tuesday, June 26th; Wednesday, June 27th; Thursday, June 28th. Also, Sox fans will be able to
watch Ohtani play against
The Carmine Hose on TV at Anaheim on the following dates:
Tuesday, April 17th; Wednesday, April 18th; Thursday, April 19th.
