The Red Sox named
Tim Hyers as their new Hitting Coach and Andy Barkett as their new Assistant Hitting Coach. Hyers has been Assistant Hitting Coach for the National League Champion Los Angeles Dodgers for the last two seasons. Barkett has been coaching and managing in the systems of the Tigers, Marlins and Pirates over the last eleven seasons. Both have reputations of enhancing the offensive output of players—something the Red Sox
desperately need going forward.
