According to
TheAthletic.com's
Ken Rosenthal, the Red Sox are still
one of at least three teams still 'engaged' with the Marlins in trade talks for
Giancarlo Stanton. Writes Rosenthal,
"The Marlins, sources said, are engaged with three clubs, believed to be the San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox." One has to assume that the Red Sox are willing to "eat" more of Stanton's remaining $295 million to still be in the running—it's about their only advantage over other teams. Thanks to
Dave Dombrowski trading away most of the organization's elite prospects, they have no "can't miss" kids to entice the Marlins. Stay tuned!
