Despite a week's worth of stories claiming that only the Cardinals and Giants had a shot at trading for
Giancarlo Stanton,
things may have changed.
MLBNetwork's
Jon Morosi is reporting that
the Red Sox are one of four teams that have already held trade negotiations with Derek Jeter's Marlins. The other teams involved are St. Louis, San Francisco and Philadelphia.
Unconfirmed reports are floating around that Boston is offering to pick up the vast majority of Stanton's $25 million-a-year salary
and part with
Andrew Benintendi,
Rafael Devers and
Eduardo Rodriguez. Stay tuned, things could get hot during next week's General Managers meetings.
