According to
Jon Heyman of
FanRagSports.com,
the Red Sox are in "active" trade talks with the Chicago White Sox for José Abreu. Boston would likely send center-fielder
Jackie Bradley, Jr. to
The Pale Hose—
in addition to a prospect or two. Abreu could slot in at 1B and provide some of the needed power in the Red Sox lineup. Last season, Abreu hit .304 with 33 HRs and 102 RBIs. He led the American League with 343 total bases. If Boston acquires Abreu, they would
also likely go after free-agent
J.D. Martinez to play left field—and move
Andrew Benintendi to center.
