With a freshly-minted World Series Championship in tow,
Alex Cora will be introduced today as the new manager of the Boston Red Sox. At noon Eastern time today, the 42-year-old Cora will become the 47th manager in the storied history of
The Carmine Hose. Cora played for the Red Sox between 2005 and 2008—including a World Series ring in 2007. Veteran Astro
Carlos Beltran described Cora's skill set as follows:
"Alex brings a lot to the table. He's a guy that always is looking for information that he could use against the opposite team. He has good communication with the guys, respects the guys. He's always in the clubhouse getting to know the players, getting to know which buttons he could push on each player to make them go out there and play the game hard, which is great."
