Wacky Season Still Sees Sox On Top Of Their Division
With all the turmoil, inconsistencies and flat out weirdness that has plagued your 2017 Carmine Hose, they still sit in first place on August 2nd. Moreover, with a win tonight, they would become only the second team in the American League with at least 60 wins (the Astros have 69 victories). And, despite giving up 10 runs last night, the Sox own the fourth best run differential (+66) in the Junior Circuit. They also have the most road wins (27) in the AL East. To pull out a win like last night's—when Chris Sale gives up seven runs—could be a "turn-around" moment like the Bill Mueller walk-off win in the Summer of 2004 (AKA the Varitek Vs. A-Fraud Fight Game). Stay tuned, sports fans—and get your playoff ticket money ready! Who knows?
