Carl Michael Yastrzemski turns 78 years old today. While there's no real need to list his achievements, we're going to anyway:
MLB Hall of Fame, 18-time All-Star, 1967 AL MVP, 1967 Triple Crown Winner, .285 lifetime, 452 HRs, 3,419 hits and 1,844 RBIs. Yaz played until he was
43 years old—and was still productive right to the end (sort of like another lefty we know). And, of course, he was the heart and soul of the 1967
Impossible Dream team—the one that changed
The Nation forever.
Happy birthday, Yaz!
