Red Sox On Pace For 11th 90-Win Season In Last 18
As "up-and-down" as the 2017 season has been, the Red Sox are still on-pace for 91 wins. If they hit or exceed the 90-win threshold, it will be the 11th time that's happened since 2000. So, 61% of the time over the last 18 years, your Carmine Hose will have cracked the 90-win barrier—not bad. Of course, 91 wins would be the second-lowest number of 90+ wins over that span—the "collapsible" 2011 team won exactly 90, and finished out of the playoffs. The highest win totals over this period came—not surprisingly—in the World Series Championship years of 2004 (98), 2007 (96) and 2013 (97). The question this year is: are they good enough to consistently win games—in both the regular and post-season settings? Stay tuned, we will certainly know soon enough.
