During last night's victory over
The Tribe, the Red Sox announced that they had
acquired OF Rajai Davis from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for minor league OF
Rafael Rincones. The 36-year-old Davis currently has 26 stolen bases on the year—making him the immediate leader in that category on the Red Sox. You may remember his Game 7 heroics in last year's World Series—when he tied the score at 6-6 with a late-inning, two-out, two-run HR off
Aroldis Chapman. It's hoped that Davis will be able to join the team in time for tonight's contest at
Progressive Field. Look for Davis to help fill-in for the injured
Jackie Bradley, Jr. and also provide a "
Dave Roberts-like" speed option off the bench for manager
John Farrell.
