UPDATE: DD—NOG did NOT set no-trade guidelines
According to multiple reports, Red Sox ownership forbade President Of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski from trading away any of the team's top-level prospects. If the reports are true, then we have to give a big high-five to the NOG (New Ownership Group)—and a partial pass to "Double D" on his moves (or lack thereof) at the deadline. After dealing away high prospects like Manuel Margot, Anderson Espinoza, Yoan Moncada and Michael Kopech, Dombrowski might have continued his farm raid. However, the list of "banned" trade bait reportedly included: Rafael Devers, Jason Groome, Michael Chavis, and Sam Travis. Thankfully, all four still remain in the system.
