Never Saw Any 'Star Wars' Stuff?—Say It Ain't So, Mookie
Sometimes it's helpful to recognize the huge generational gap between Millennials (like Red Sox super-star Mookie Betts) and Baby Boomers (like your old geezer Editor-In-Chief). On a recent Rob Bradford podcast, Mookie admitted that he has never seen anything 'Star Wars'-related—nor is he interested in doing so. The Boston right-fielder stated that he had never seen "one ‘Star Wars’ movie, TV show — nothing. Never seen it. From my viewpoint, I don’t like movies that are fake. So when I say ‘fake,’ like ‘Transformers.’ I’ve never seen any of the ‘Transformers.’ That’s not real." Come on, Mookie—'Star Wars' is real enough. After all, we're sure that you'd subscribe to the following observation by the great sage Yoda: "Do. Or do not. There is no try." That's you all over, Mookster!
