Andrew Benintendi really likes
The Concrete Bunker On 161st Street. In a
good way.
Benny Ballgame has now clouted
three home runs in two days at the Bronx ball-yard—smashing
two three-run HRs today alone in
Boston's 10-5 bounce-back win. The 23-year-old former Arkansas Razorback went 2-4 in the win—knocking in six runs. The rookie now has 16 HRs and 65 RBIs.
Drew Pomeranz had
another stellar start—going 6.2 innings and giving up three earned runs. The lefty struck out five on the way to his 12th win of the season. His ERA is an impressive 3.39.
Robby Scott pitched an ineffective ninth inning (two solo HRs) and is likely headed back down I-95 to Pawtucket. Down 2-0 early, the Red Sox tied things on a two-run single by
Mookie Betts in the third. Then,
"Benny Biceps" (with a hat-tip to
Dennis Eckersley) took over. Boston's lead in the AL East in back up to 4.5 games, with
Chris Sale waiting in the wings on Sunday night.
