Sox Are Idle, But Two Closest Rivals Battle In The Bronx
So, who are you gonna root for tonight—the bad guys or the wicked bad guys? Boston's two closest AL East rivals face-off tonight at The Concrete Bunker On 161st Street to vie for the second spot behind the idle Red Sox (as well as the two Wild Card slots). Two hurlers who have had surprisingly good seasons will match up—Tampa's Chris Archer (7-6, 3.77 ERA) and CC Sabathia of The Bronx Embalmers (9-3, 3.44 ERA). Said Sabathia (who is six whiffs shy of Cy Young on the all-time strikeout list), "I think anytime you play a team in your division, it's going to be a tough series. It's going to be big games." May they split the four contests—that's what we think we want.
