With all the talk of adding a 3B at the trade deadline, the Red Sox have nearly as big a need in their over-performing and over-worked bullpen. Multiple reports suggest that Boston is one of three teams (along with the Astros and Brewers)
interested in trading for 29-year-old lefty reliever Justin Wilson of the Tigers. He is
not to be confused with
Alex Wilson, the
right-handed reliever we shipped (along with
Yoenis Cespedes) to the Tigers for
Rick Porcello. Justin has 10 saves this year for Detroit and a 2.75 ERA. He could be used as a set-up guy for closer
Craig Kimbrel. No word on what prospects/players would need to go to
The Motor City to get Wilson.
