Mookie-Palooza |
Whoever makes the selections of reserves for the American League All-Star team was hopefully watching
The Carmine Hose today.
Mookie Betts went
4-6 with two homeruns and eight RBIs in
Boston's 15-1 demolishing of the fading Blue Jays. But Mookie was only one part of the offensive barrage unloaded on our Canadian neighbors. The Red Sox had five players with at least three hits. Aside from Betts' four,
four other players went 3-5:
Hanley Ramirez,
Jackie Bradley, Jr.,
Tzu-Wei Lin and
Devin Marrero. Lefty
Drew Pomeranz turned in yet
another solid performance—going six innings, giving up just one earned run on five hits. The laugher—along with another Empire loss—pushed Boston's AL East lead to a full three games. The Red Sox move on to Texas for a three-game set in Arlington.
