The father of Red Sox pitching prospect
Jay Groome has been arrested on multiple drug and weapons charges in New Jersey.
Jason Groome, 43, faces the following laundry list of charges, including: possession with intent to distribute and distribution of heroin; possession of cocaine; possession of cocaine over one half ounce with the intent to distribute; distribution of cocaine over one half ounce; possession with intent to distribute and distribution of methamphetamine, and possession of a firearm (9 mm handgun). The 18-year-old Groome (a lefty) is the #2 overall prospect in the Red Sox organization.
