Prado (L); Phelps (R) |
Multiple reports now indicate that the Red Sox might be interested in
a "package deal" with the Miami Marlins that would bring a third baseman (
Martin Prado) and a relief pitcher (
David Phelps) to Boston. The 33-year-old Prado (formerly an
Evil One) is a 12-year veteran who is hitting .262 this year in 33 games for Miami. Phelps—who you also might remember was a
Pinstriped Poser—is 2-4 this season with a 3.68 ERA. The right-hander has given up 40 hits in 44 innings pitched—and sports a WHIP of 1.273. He has struck out almost 10 batters per nine innings pitched (9.8). None of the reports have indicated who from Yawkey Way might be taking their talents to South Beach. Stay tuned!
